Overview
At Waffle, we want you to be completely happy with your purchase. This policy outlines how refunds, returns, and cancellations work for pre-order deposits, product purchases, and subscriptions. This policy is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).
Pre-order Deposit Refunds
Your $20 AUD pre-order deposit is fully refundable any time before your final balance is drawn down in mid-June 2026. No questions asked. After the mid-June draw-down, the standard 30-day product return policy below applies.
- To request a refund, email us at hello@wafflekids.co with the email address you used to place your pre-order.
- Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and returned to your original payment method.
- Once your deposit is refunded, your locked-in quantities, Founding Family pricing, and priority shipping spot will be released.
Product Returns
Once Waffle products begin shipping (Batch #1 August 2026 sold out; Batch #2 ships October 2026), the following return policy will apply:
- 30-day return window — You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return your Waffle device for a full refund.
- Condition — Products must be in their original packaging and in unused or like-new condition.
- How to return — Email hello@wafflekids.co to initiate a return. We'll provide a prepaid return shipping label.
- Refund processing — Once we receive and inspect the returned product, your refund will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.
This 30-day return policy is in addition to your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See "Your Consumer Rights" below.
Subscription Cancellations
Waffle subscriptions (Home Paid at $10/month, Go Paid at $15/month) can be cancelled at any time. There are no lock-in contracts.
- How to cancel — Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel in the Waffle app, or email hello@wafflekids.co.
- Access after cancellation — You'll continue to have access to your Paid features until the end of your current billing period.
- Downgrade to Free — After your Paid subscription ends, your device automatically moves to the Free tier. You won't lose your device — it just returns to Free features.
- Free trial — If you cancel during your 30-day free trial, you won't be charged at all.
Faulty or Defective Products
If your Waffle device arrives damaged or develops a fault, we'll make it right.
- Report the issue — Email hello@wafflekids.co with a description of the problem and any photos if relevant.
- Resolution options — We'll offer a replacement, repair, or full refund depending on the nature of the fault.
- Warranty — All Waffle devices come with a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects.
Your Consumer Rights (Australia)
Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) — Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) — you have consumer guarantee rights that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. These include:
- Products must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match their description.
- If a product has a major failure, you can choose a refund, replacement, or compensation for the drop in value.
- If a product has a minor failure, we can choose to repair, replace, or refund within a reasonable time.
- Services (including subscriptions) must be provided with due care and skill and be fit for the specified purpose.
Nothing in this policy limits, excludes, or modifies your rights under the ACL. For more information, visit the ACCC website.
Governing Law
This Refund & Returns Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia, including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
