From the app:
Open Waffle app → Select device → Hit the call button

From your regular phone (Home Paid & Go Paid):
Just dial your Waffle's phone number like any other call.
• Home Paid: Anyone can call
• Go Paid: Only approved contacts can call

The Waffle lights up, makes noise, and tells them who's calling! They just press the button to answer.

Nope! Waffle is voice-only. No texts, no typing, just talking. That's the whole point.

If your kid misses a call, you can leave a message. They'll get an alert and can listen whenever.

You can also check voice notes in the app!

Yes. Waffle can call 911 directly. Under FCC rules, emergency calling is on by default and can't be turned off, and it bypasses every parent-set restriction.

911 calls route to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the service address you registered during setup, so keep that address up to date in the Waffle app. Waffle needs an internet connection to call 911. Always keep a working phone available — Waffle is a communication device, not a substitute for emergency services.

You can see all your child's Waffle calls and messages (that's a feature for safety, not spying!).

Yes. Under FCC rules you register your device's physical service address during setup. 911 calls route to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) serving that address, so if you move or your child travels with the device, update the address in the Waffle app.

Waffle Go also transmits GPS location where available, but because it's portable the call may route to the PSAP for your registered address rather than your child's exact location — your child may need to tell the operator where they are. Waffle needs an internet connection (Go: WiFi or mobile data; Home: WiFi, no cellular fallback), and E911 may be limited if your connection or power fails. Always keep a working phone available.

Waffle Home works with regular 2.4GHz WiFi (the standard kind for smart home stuff).

If you've got a fancy router with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, you might need to connect to the 2.4GHz network during setup.

Waffle Go includes real-time GPS tracking anywhere on its Paid plan! Updates every 30 seconds — you can see where they are right in the app.

Accuracy:
• Outdoors: 15-30 feet usually
• Indoors: 30-150 feet (GPS struggles indoors)

You set up "safe zones" (home, school, park) and Waffle Go sends alerts when your kid enters or leaves them.

Like: "Riley just arrived at school" or "Riley left the park"

You get 1GB/month with Waffle Go Paid. Typical usage:
• Voice calls: 250-350MB
• GPS tracking: 40-60MB
• App updates: 30-50MB

So you'll usually use 400-500MB. Plenty of buffer!

If you go over 1GB, the device keeps working but GPS pauses until next month. You can buy extra data for $5/GB if needed.

Waffle Go is water-resistant! (IP53)
• Rain and splashes — no worries
• Not for submersion though

Wipe it dry after it gets wet and don't charge it while damp!

Yep! Waffle Go works on 13+ carrier networks across the US, including:

Major carriers: AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular
Regional carriers: C-Spire, Carolina West, Appalachian, Inland, and more

Great coverage in cities, suburbs, and regional areas — from the Southeast (C-Spire) to the Midwest (US Cellular) to Appalachia and the Carolinas. Very remote areas might be patchy — check your carrier's coverage map if you're not sure.

Not yet! Right now Waffle Go is US-only. International roaming might come later.

Yes! As long as both Waffle devices are set up and both numbers are in each other's contact lists.
